The problem for panOpen, is that there was no ability for students to read Open Educational Resources (OER) on mobile devices nor interact with the content. This is a long term (and on-going) project for me. For this project I was able follow a complete design process from performing user research and interviews, to creating the wireframes and design mockups and then testing and iterating. I also played the role of product owner (product manager), and did everything from creating individual stories for the developers to work on as well as managed the sprints. panOpen’s student reader is a Ruby On Rails application and the front end is built using React.js.
Results
The panOpen platform is a learning platform for higher education based on OER. We are continuing to further develop the platform. For more info about panOpen go to https://panopen.com
